MACMILLAN and MINDWISE: FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER
Location Base: Blended home and office-based working; based at MindWise’s Head Office with travel throughout NI.
Hours: 35 Hours per week.
Salary Range: £25,752 - £28,093 (pro-rata) (MindWise Band 2)
Starting Salary: £24,034.26
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2027

As a Macmillan funded Professional, employed by MindWise, The Family Support Worker will assist and support the Psychosocial Service (NI), and work closely with the team members in the development of the service. They will embed family focused practice and develop skills in the use of ‘The Family Model’ (Falkov 2012). They will provide support and address the impact of mental health issues upon children, family members and carers living in a family where there is a cancer diagnosis. The post holder will have opportunities to assist in the development of highlighting the experiences of people living with cancer and mental health issues, their families, and carers, to ensure they are at the centre of all that we do.
What we ask for from you:

2.Three years’ experience working in a caring role in a social care setting, either in mental health or children's services
Be fully registered with, or eligible to register with, NISCC as a Social Worker.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced check via the Access (NI) Service.
The post holder may be required to travel throughout Northern Ireland and on occasions, within the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and elsewhere.
