WELLNESS WORKER

Location: Covers the Omagh Area. Base: Omagh Library.   Service delivery both virtually and in / community-based outreach centres / schools / homes.

Hours: 20 Hours per week (flexible working options can be discussed with the successful candidate(s)

Starting Salary: £13,988.27

Duration: Fixed term contract until 30th June 2027

The Wellness Service provides person-centred wellbeing support to children, adults, and families, helping individuals to build resilience, improve emotional wellbeing, and develop practical strategies to support positive mental health.

The postholder will deliver wellbeing interventions to mums and children using evidence-informed approaches, including the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) for mums and the Beyond Bricks Wellness Programme for children aged 5–12 years. Through one-to-one support, group programmes, workshops, and signposting, the role aims to empower individuals and families to identify their strengths, build coping skills, enhance emotional resilience, and improve overall wellbeing outcomes.

The postholder will work collaboratively with families, schools, community organisations, and partner agencies to ensure children and families receive appropriate support and are connected to relevant services where required. They will contribute to the promotion and delivery of wellbeing programmes, workshops, and events that support emotional health, early intervention, and family wellbeing.

What we ask for from you:

  • Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) training completed or willing to complete on commencement in role.
  • Level 2 Essential Skills in Maths and English or GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
  • Able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 to 6 months recent experience, providing support to children or families with mental health needs either in a paid or voluntary position

OR

Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience of providing support in a paid or voluntary capacity in another care setting.

  • NISCC Registration or eligible to be registered from commencement of role
  • Must hold a full driving licence or access to reliable transport to enable them to carry out the duties associated with this post
